It’s that time of year again. People are getting engaged, wedding planning is beginning, and although most girls have had a clear vision of what they’ve wanted their wedding to look like since they were little girls – it’s always nice to see a little inspiration and get a peek into what other brides are doing. Whether you want the classic all white, structured bouquet, or see yourself carrying a loose, flowy wildflower piece – or maybe you even find yourself in the middle and just want a few pops of color… my 2014 brides had it all.
So after going through all of my weddings this year, I pulled a few of my favorite images that showcase just how beautiful a bouquet can be, and what it adds to wedding party’s whole look. Hopefully you see something you like, get an idea of what you want yours to be, and maybe you even find your wedding florist (every vendor is listed above each photo). And don’t forget to pass this blog along to any of your friends getting married next year! My Wedding Inspirations Blog Series is back, y’all! And I’m kicking it off with florals 🙂

If you follow my work/blog, you know that I LOVE to travel in the off-season. This year was full of amazing adventures in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Colorado, California, and Nashville… just to name a few of my favorites. So you know that I have my 2015 off-season calendar full of exciting and new places to go. But this year, I wanted to combine my love for travel with my passion for photography. That’s why I’m so excited to announce that I’m offering a limited number of time slots for Engagement/Lifestyle/Anniversary/Portrait sessions all over the country next year! A session like this in Chicago would be priced at $500, but these special sessions will be half off! These sessions are such a great deal, would make great Christmas gifts, and are all inclusive:
$250 Photo Session
- 1-2 hour Photo Shoot at an outdoor location(s) of your choice
- Digital enhancements, editing, retouching
- Downloadable online gallery with top 70+ high resolution images
- License to print photos wherever you choose
My business would not be where it is today without the love and support from my friends, family, and clients-turned-friends. It never ceases to amaze me and touch my heart when people refer me to a friend of a friend of a friend. Referrals have more than doubled the number of weddings I’m shooting every single year – and I have all of you to thank for that. So now I’m asking you – friends, family, clients, fans… pass this incredible offer along to anyone you know that might be interested. Below are dates/cities that are already on the books. Live in a city nearby one of the ones listed below? Let’s talk about our options – I’m willing to travel a bit! I will continually be adding to this list, but for now, here it is:
Portland, OR // January 8th, 9th, 10th
Big Sky, MT // January 30th, 31st
Phoenix, AZ // February 18th, 19th, 20th
Again, thank you so much to every single person that has supported my business over the past few years. I am forever grateful that you’ve allowed me to do what I love every single day. Please continue that support and pass this special offer along to anyone you think might be interested, or if you’re thinking about booking a session/learning more, please email me at email@example.com and we can chat 🙂
We’re driving through Chicago on the trolley, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off comes on the radio – and of course, everyone starts singing along. And as I’m snapping pictures of the cheers-ing, laughing, singing, and dancing – I notice something. I’m not hearing the usual off key scream-singing that I myself am guilty of when my jam comes on. But I’m hearing perfectly pitched, beautiful tones. I look around out from behind my camera and everyone is singing harmoniously together – and I literally got goosebumps.
That was pretty much the theme of the day. Beautiful singing, and me getting teary eyed and/or goosebumps. You see, Liz + Kyle share a love for music. Kyle is a professional singer and Liz is a music teacher, so they also have a group of friends that share the same passion. From the choir singing acapella at the ceremony, to the solo vocalist cocktail hour performance, to the singing along to all the songs at the reception – this musical bunch was a blast to work with and it was a privilege to be surrounded by such talented people. Liz + Kyle, thank you for choosing me from all of the possible wedding photographers in Chicago – I know it must have been a tough decision and very difficult to plan all the way from New York. But, although we didn’t get to meet until the day of – it still felt like we shared the same vision for your wedding day. You were both so wonderful to work with, and I hope you enjoyed your time in Chicago! Hope it’s a little warmer for you in New York than it is here 🙂

Ashley + Connor met the night before NYE while the rest of Chicago was at home resting up for the next night. Fate brought these two together at Justin’s on Southport though, and after ringing in the new year together the following night, they knew they had something special. Now you can find these two planning their dream wedding at the Planetarium from their River North home, filling their nights with homemade chili and even taking trips to Akira together (where Connor was quick to notice there were no seats for men waiting for their shopping fiancés).
Enter me. I was referred to Ashley + Connor through a mutual acquaintance from the University of Illinois, and after grabbing a cup of coffee together and discussing their wedding, we knew it was the right fit. I met Ashley + Connor at the Lincoln Park Zoo South Pond/Nature Boardwalk for their session. It was chilly November afternoon, but Ashley + Connor kept each other warm by keeping close and nuzzling up to avoid the brisk Chicago winds. Despite the cold and our sniffly noses, love this couple, love this location, love the photos. Congrats to Ashley + Connor – see you guys at the wedding!
Sarah + Greg chose their wedding date based on one thing… the Bears and Packers both having bye weeks that Sunday. As soon as I heard that – I knew this couple and wedding group was going to be tons of fun. The day was set at the historic Blackstone Hotel in the South Loop of Chicago. It was a cold November day, but it was immediately warmed up by the love and warmth from all of Sarah + Greg’s friends and family members. Sarah + Greg, it was wonderful getting to know the both of you during both the engagement session and wedding day. There were so many special moments on your wedding, and I’m thrilled that I got to be a part of it all. I wish you all of the best, and hopefully I run into you at Lake Paw Paw next summer!

Let’s just say that from the minute I saw on Facebook that Jacque + Tommy got engaged, I started checking my inbox desperately hoping to get an email from one of them about being their wedding photographer. So when that message finally popped up from Jacque – I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of this special time in their lives. Jacque + Tommy are one of the sweetest couples ever. I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire session. Whether we were baffled at the weird things coming out of my mouth to make them smile, dying over Jacque’s amazing ability to sit like a lady, or laughing at Tommy’s ‘hot humid’ breath on Jacque’s face, it was definitely one of those sessions that was more ‘fun’ than ‘work’.
We started at one of my favorite suburban locations – Lyman Woods – to capture some of the beauty of fall. And boy, was this place perfect. The trees were fully adorned with golden leaves and flares of sunlight peaking through the perfectly spaced gaps. Somehow I always forget how gorgeous this time of year can be – but I’m always reminded during these fall engagement sessions. I swear I could shoot at this location for hours – especially during this time of year. But after about an hour of playing in the woods, we decided to head over to Downtown Elmhurst to wrap up the session. Jacque + Tommy met in Elmhurst, so it’s a very special place for them. They spend a lot of time at Pints, so we walked the streets of good old E-town for a bit before winding down at Pints. Jacque + Tommy, you guys are the best. I really did have so much fun with both. I had a late wedding the night before, so to be completely honest I was a little tired, but your energy and love brought me right back up and before I knew it I was laughing and having a blast. Thanks for everything, and I can’t wait for the wedding in June!
A Disney girl at heart, Carrie always envisioned her wedding day as a fairytale. And let me tell you – it was nothing short of that. From her wonderfully fluffy princess bridal gown, to “Be Our Guest” being played as dinner was served at the reception, to her beautiful big eyes that resemble all the Disney princesses’ (something I didn’t notice until the Disney theme emerged on the day of), Carrie + Ryan’s day was truly a Fairytale.
From the first time I met Carrie + Ryan during their Engagement Session last winter – it has felt like we were old friends just hanging out while I snap a few photos. We’ve ice-skated together, stood on top of medians on Michigan Ave., and even dodged traffic in the middle of the street while trying to get the shot. It truly has been nothing but a pleasure working with you guys, and I couldn’t be happier with how your wedding photos turned out. You guys are beautiful both inside and out, and I’m so blessed to have clients like you in my life. Congratulations on a beautiful life together – and I hope our paths cross in the future!
