Every now and then, I like to second shoot for other photographers to get a new perspective on things, see how others are getting it done, and all around have fun shooting without the pressure of working a wedding as a lead shooter (real talk: love all my couples but sometimes it is stressful trying to make sure everything is going perfectly – and that’s only because I care about you, xoxo). So when Natalie Probst Photography reached out about needing a second shooter, I said, why not? Side story – shortly after meeting the groom – we realized we lived in the same building and I have already ran into them twice since the wedding… small world, isn’t it?? Anyway, here are a few of my favorite shots of the day!
Alexis + Kevin met when they were just kids – and Kevin immediately said “I’m gonna marry you one day.” And although the timing wasn’t right for a few years, eventually the stars aligned and they began fulfilling Kevin’s prediction. So a few weeks ago, I flew to New York to meet these two lovebirds on a warm winter day. We were hoping for some snow on the ground, but instead got 50 degree weather in January – so we can’t complain! We galavanted around Central Park, hitting all the iconic spots – and then went over to the Highline to get some NY city views. Alexis + Kevin, it was wonderful spending the day in New York with you both. It felt like a day hanging with old friends and I’m so happy that we could make it work 🙂 Good luck with all the wedding planning and I hope you love the photos as much as I do!
You know when you see a couple in love and their bodies move whimsically around each other in perfect unison? Their smiles not only grin from ear to ear, but seem to connect into one collective symbol of pure happiness between them? That’s Kelly + Brian. Their effortless style and easy going personalities made this California vineyard engagement session even more special than it was already destined to be. And then you throw in the iconic west coast sunset, the glowy light of that ever desired golden hour, and the leading lines of the vineyard crops resting before sprouting some of the world’s most delectable wines – and I am one happy, camera crazy photog that can’t stop clicking the shutter.
