We’re taking the blog back to warmer days (this snowy/slush is NOT happening, right?)… we’re going back to South Haven, MI this summer with Meg + Joe. These two matched on Tinder, met up with a group of their friends, and then went on a proper date the following week. They were supposed to end the night with batting cages at Sluggers, but since it was closed, they spent the night hanging at Burwood Tap and never looked back.

A few Christmases later, one of my favorite proposal ever stories happened… I’ll let Meg + Joe tell it, “Joe had really shocked Meg by telling her they needed to run an errand, which ended up being in a jewelry store – Joe had panicked after trying to squeeze out of Meg’s friends what kind of ring she wanted that he couldn’t move forward with a purchase without consulting her directly. A few months passed and every day kept Meg on edge – every moment (even walking the dog) felt like it might be the one. Finally, after their Christmas gift exchange before heading to their parents for the holidays ended with no ring, Meg figured it wouldn’t happen until after the new year and let her guard down. On Christmas Eve morning, Meg was running around helping her mom prepare for their annual party. Early afternoon, Joe coaxed Meg into going with him to take their dog to the groomer (luckily she ended up brushing her hair just before leaving), and wanted to kill time waiting for the pup by walking on the Prairie Path. Meg was objecting, as it was cold and snowing fairly heavily. Joe finally coaxed her, and as they started walking, Joe pointed out something taped to the light pole. Meg figured it was for some family tradition in the neighborhood and objected to Joe fiddling with it. It wasn’t until he tore open the envelope that she realized it had a photo of them in it. Accompanying the photo was a note with a reason why Joe wanted to marry Meg. As they continued to walk the path, there were several more cards with notes, culminating with Joe getting on one knee (in a set of snowy bushes) and popping the question.”
