Chicago Elopement at City Hall | Getting Married in a Pandemic | Alyssa + Nick
November 7th, 2020 was a special day for many. As Alyssa + Nick rounded the corner of City Hall to get married and meet me for some pre-ceremony photos, they exclaimed, “Biden just won!” It was a moment I’ll never forget – as we were in the heart of downtown Chicago, taking photos to celebrate their elopement – cars were honking in celebration of the election results AND yelling congratulations to the newlyweds… the energy was palpable. Alyssa + Nick carried that energy into City Hall and were just emoting happiness and love throughout the ceremony – it was beautiful to see and be a part of – even the judge that married them got emotional! I’m telling you–these small, intimate elopement/micro-weddings at Chicago City Hall are truly something special and I hope to continue photographing them long after the pandemic is over.
