Tijana reached out to me back in January after finding me on Pinterest. She and Aleks are getting married in Michigan – but they wanted to do some engagement photos in the Windy City, as well. During this gorgeous engagement session, they told me how their love story started a few years ago at a Serbian basketball tournament… and how they’ve been dating ever since. While Tijana lives just outside of Detroit and Aleks in Chicago… they’ve been doing the long distance thing for a few years now. That is, until Aleks proposed on his birthday during dinner at Vivo in the West Loop 🙂
We met on what was probably the most beautiful day of the year so far, just outside the Planetarium to get some iconic Chicago skyline shots before heading to Union Station. Although we had been exchanging emails, texts, and phone calls before the session – this was the first time actually meeting in person. But after just a few minutes – Tijana + Aleks both warmed up to my camera. And let me tell you, I could have shot these two all. fricking. day. Their playful energy, love for each other, trust in what I do, and hello – not to mention they’re both drop dead gorgeous… it was a dream session and the perfect way to spend one of the few spring days we’ve had this year. Tijana + Aleks… I’m beyond thrilled that you were able to find me through the hundreds of other photographers on Pinterest. I had so much fun with you guys and I hope we can work together again soon!
Tijana, being from Detroit, is a Red Wings fan… and Aleks, being from Chicago, is a Blackhawks fan. SWORN ENEMIES. So we just had to get some playful shots of them goofing around in their favorite team’s jerseys. Super adorbs, you guys. But I’m sorry, Tijana… you know I’m a Chicago girl – GO BLACKHAWKS!
