Mil and Kris live in L.A. and made the trip out to Chicago for the very first time this past weekend. They wanted to have professional pictures taken during their vacation so that they could show their future kids these photos one day – and hopefully inspire them to travel as well. Mil said she was inspired by her mom’s photo under the St. Louis Arch – which just shows the value of a photograph only increases over time and the memories are priceless! The idea for us was to make this photo session as “Chicago” as possible… Mil wanted their future kids to be able to look at these photos when there older and know they were definitely in Chicago. So, we hit up all the hot tourist spots… the Chicago River, Millennium Park, and ended just outside the Planetarium for that unbeatable Chicago skyline view.
The whole day was a blast with Mil and Kris. I talked about the different places they could get Chicago pizza, they told me about their meal at Portillo’s, and we even discovered that we just missed each other earlier in the day at the Willis Tower Skydeck (where I was hanging off the side of the skyscraper with my Florida photog in town, Rebecca Read). Mil, Kris, and I even took selfies in the cab after the shoot… we felt like old friends and I’m so glad they found me on Pinterest! Mil + Kris, I hope these photos forever remind you of the wonderful time you had in Chicago. I hope the city treated you well… and that you’ll come back soon!
