I met Crystal and Carlos on a cloudy summer night at the Lincoln Park Zoo South Pond. The light was absolutely perfect, and although it wasn’t our standard August weather, it was a beautiful night. Carlos told me how Crystal always jokes that he is so predictable, so he definitely had to surprise her with the proposal. He took her on one of the Odyssey cruises, cleared the deck of any spectators, and popped the question with the Chicago skyline lights shining in the background.

Wanting to document this exciting time in their lives, Crystal took her photographer search to Pinterest and Instagram and came across my photos. From there, it was the perfect match and we had the best time shooting in Lincoln Park and finishing up the session on the Kinzie Street Bridge.
