Let’s just say that from the minute I saw on Facebook that Jacque + Tommy got engaged, I started checking my inbox desperately hoping to get an email from one of them about being their wedding photographer. So when that message finally popped up from Jacque – I couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of this special time in their lives. Jacque + Tommy are one of the sweetest couples ever. I don’t think we stopped laughing the entire session. Whether we were baffled at the weird things coming out of my mouth to make them smile, dying over Jacque’s amazing ability to sit like a lady, or laughing at Tommy’s ‘hot humid’ breath on Jacque’s face, it was definitely one of those sessions that was more ‘fun’ than ‘work’.
We started at one of my favorite suburban locations – Lyman Woods – to capture some of the beauty of fall. And boy, was this place perfect. The trees were fully adorned with golden leaves and flares of sunlight peaking through the perfectly spaced gaps. Somehow I always forget how gorgeous this time of year can be – but I’m always reminded during these fall engagement sessions. I swear I could shoot at this location for hours – especially during this time of year. But after about an hour of playing in the woods, we decided to head over to Downtown Elmhurst to wrap up the session. Jacque + Tommy met in Elmhurst, so it’s a very special place for them. They spend a lot of time at Pints, so we walked the streets of good old E-town for a bit before winding down at Pints. Jacque + Tommy, you guys are the best. I really did have so much fun with both. I had a late wedding the night before, so to be completely honest I was a little tired, but your energy and love brought me right back up and before I knew it I was laughing and having a blast. Thanks for everything, and I can’t wait for the wedding in June!
