We’re driving through Chicago on the trolley, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off comes on the radio – and of course, everyone starts singing along. And as I’m snapping pictures of the cheers-ing, laughing, singing, and dancing – I notice something. I’m not hearing the usual off key scream-singing that I myself am guilty of when my jam comes on. But I’m hearing perfectly pitched, beautiful tones. I look around out from behind my camera and everyone is singing harmoniously together – and I literally got goosebumps.
That was pretty much the theme of the day. Beautiful singing, and me getting teary eyed and/or goosebumps. You see, Liz + Kyle share a love for music. Kyle is a professional singer and Liz is a music teacher, so they also have a group of friends that share the same passion. From the choir singing acapella at the ceremony, to the solo vocalist cocktail hour performance, to the singing along to all the songs at the reception – this musical bunch was a blast to work with and it was a privilege to be surrounded by such talented people. Liz + Kyle, thank you for choosing me from all of the possible wedding photographers in Chicago – I know it must have been a tough decision and very difficult to plan all the way from New York. But, although we didn’t get to meet until the day of – it still felt like we shared the same vision for your wedding day. You were both so wonderful to work with, and I hope you enjoyed your time in Chicago! Hope it’s a little warmer for you in New York than it is here 🙂
